Although it's known as the Rock 'n Roll Capital of the World, Cleveland has festivals celebrating many aspects from food and theater to ethnic origins and oddities. Called one of the most livable cities in the United States and the best city for business meetings, festivals in Cleveland are an important part of the city's culture.
The Cleveland summer festival season starts with the Great American Rib Fest on the Memorial Day weekend. The 4-day event features rib outlets from all over the world, well-known entertainers, children's activities and a lot more. Vintage Ohio is a 2-day festival that showcases the high-quality wines produced by the state's wine-growing areas, regional foods and cooking demonstrations. The Burning River Festival, conceived by the Great Lakes Brewing Company, showcases craft beers, fresh food from local farms and live entertainment.
The Twin Days Festival in, naturally, Twinsburg is the world's largest gathering of twins, triplets, quadruplets and their families. The weekend includes a golf tournament, children's games and activities, a talent show, dancing, food and entertainment. Ingenuity Fest Cleveland is a festival that brings together art and technology. The events include dance, music, concerts, exhibits and state-of-the-art technology.
The Feast of the Assumption festival is a celebration of the city's Little Italy neighborhood which features exhibits and rides at the Holy Rosary Church parking lot, lots of Italian food and a parade. Cleveland's Greek population holds the Tremont Greek Fest offering Greek food, drinks, dancing and a variety of bands and dancers. The Collinwood neighborhood is home to many residents with Slavic origins who celebrate their roots with the East 185th Street Festival. It's a free annual event with polka dancing, pierogi and potato pancakes, exhibits and a lot of activities for people of all ages. Cleveland also holds a Cleveland Asian Festival, Irish Cultural Festival, Latino Heritage Festival, and many more.
